Fri 11 Sep: Béal Bán, traditional Irish music from an all-star quartet of fiddle, accordion, uilleann pipes and guitar 

 

Sat 12 Sep: Four Last Songs Music by Richard Strauss and others performed by award-winning soprano Elizabeth Karani, with Adam Dickson (piano) and Anton Avis (double-bass)

 

Sun 13 Sep: Choral Evensong at St James’

 

Thu 17 Sep: Silent Movies Night Classic films from the 1920s accompanied by Ashley Valentine on St James’ organ

 

Fri 18 Sep: Panorama - from Bach to Jazz A dazzling programme (Bach-Busoni, Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninov, Kapustin) by piano virtuoso Rupert Egerton-Smith 

 

Sat 19 Sep: Signs and Secrets Dowland’s Foundry explore the murky world of Elizabeth I’s court through the lute songs of John Dowland

 

Sun 20 Sep: Youth Prom Vocal and instrumental music by the finest local young performers

 

Fri 25 Sep: Three into One James Gilbert (clarinet), Heather Tuach (cello) and Yoon Chung (piano) play trios by Brahms and Mozart

 

Sat 26 Sep: Last Night of Our Proms The Haydn Chamber Orchestra play symphonies by Haydn (No. 104) and Beethoven (No. 4), with arias by Mozart and Stravinsky from soprano Manon Ogwen Parry

... plus a free exhibition of paintings and photographs at St James’ throughout September, and Saturday morning workshops for children on 12 Sep (music) and 19 Sep (art and crafts).
